DESCRIPTION:
Gebrüder Junghans, Schramberg, Germany, elephant model swinging clock, 8 day, time only, spring driven movement with compound pendulum held aloft by a patinated elephant figure on a molded wood base, the clock case with gilt and patinated surfaces, two-tone Arabic numerals on a white enamel dial with the Junghans star trademark and signed "Junghans Germany" below 6:00, two-tone hands.
CONDITION:
Elephant with intact patination and showing a bit of brass at the tusks. The wood base has a few minor scratches and a thin, old finish. The clock case has minor discoloration to surface and gilding. The dial has four fine hairline cracks and very nice hands. The movement is signed and the mainspring contained within a barrel.
